After I landed last night, Sue and I went to El Patron for dinner. Back home, we watched "Elementary", or tried to - Sue had had little sleep the night before so she kept nodding off. Equally sleep-deprived Cagney the Terror Terrier and Agatha the Killer Kat decided to share my lap.

Why would people rely on their GPS to figure out how to go across the Bay from San Leandro, where they now work, to a Christmas party in San Francisco a few blocks from where they used to work a few years ago? I thought the whole thing was pretty funny, but I kept my amusement to myself.

"For the record, I want you to know that the mechanical lobster is not my fault."

While I was in the Bay Area last week, I decided to go thru my backlog of web-based fantasy magazine "Beneath Ceaseless Skies". I'm far from done, but on the flight back yesterday, I finished their 95th issue, which contained my favorite story in the bunch - Margaret Ronald's steampunky "The Governess and the Lobster", which is part of an informal series that's been going on for quite some time. Take a look.
