FiestaCon/WesterCon - puns, past lives and boredom

I was on a pun panel today and I basically found myself unable to think up any good one. I knew the dynamics of doing it in the real world in real time would be different from doing it in the blogosphere. I'll live. At least I remembered some good ones from Groucho and attributed them to him, being a good marxist.

The steampunk-literature went pretty well, and I showed myself to be knowledgeable. As for the steampunk-movie panel... In spite of my work and rehearsals, I managed to run overtime and left almost no time for the other panelist. Sure, we started late because we were too polite to kick out the past-life therapy group, but I sucked, based on the lack of reactions as I went thru my slideshow. Oh well.

Luckily there's the Making Light gathering tonight after the Fourth of July fireworks.

Either that, or the audience was so much in awe that they forgot to make any sound at all... (I always hate a complete lack of audience feedback too!)
