I got an email from the local SF club last night. Some time ago, I had offered to do my steampunk-movie presentation at one of the monthly meetings, and they were interested. It'll happen on November 13th. Yes, it's a Friday, but things will probably go more smoothly than when I did the presentation at FiestaCon. The past-life therapy group had taken so long vacating the premises that, once I was all set up, my laptop booted up and the projector working, I was almost 15 minutes late. By the time I was done, way too close to the start of the next panel, its participants were well roasted by the Arizona sun.

It should be. Since I won't have the same time constraints, I can add some of my 'slides' back in. After all, people go to these things for the pictures, which, I've been told are each worth a thousand words - but not as boring as one thousand actual words.

But, but. . .it's a dry heat!

He says, as one who lived in Tucson and Phoenix for about four years.

Dry? It felt very humid to me. Yes, I guess that means Albuquerque is even drier than I thought. At least things cool off here at night.

I think the elevation in ABQ is a little higher than either of the two cities I mentioned.

True. Albuquerque is as much as mile-high city as Denver is.

By the way, some of the next panel's participants bing roasted outside the room were from the Big Apple, where the climate is a bit different from Albuquerque's and from Phoenix's.
