Fans of Mike Mignola might be interested in knowing that, last week, was the publication of B.P.R.D.’s first issue of ”1947”, a 5-part story featuring Professor Broom when he was quite younger and not long after he had become the mentor of HellBoy. It appears to be a followup to last year’s ”1946”, which was set in East Berlin and featured vampires and a Nazi scientist’s head in a jar. Returning in the new story is Varvara, the cutest little Russian girl one could imagine although she has this peculiarity of really being a hideous creature from Hell who had long ago decided it preferred living among humans.

Last week also saw the release of the first issue of another 5-parter, ”In the Service of Angels”, about Sir Edward Grey, Victorian witchfinder and occult detective.

All very promising. Unfortuntely, I decided to make an experiment and to wait until all issues of both stories have been published. All those months…
