Does anybody know where there might be good (and not too small) downloadable photos from 1982's TV series Q.E.D.? Bill Higgins and I were talking about steampunk, after the Hugos were over, and he brought it up. I'd never seen it, not too surprising considering that it lasted for about 6 episodes, but I should mention it when I do my steampunk-movie slideshow at the local SF club's meeting in November. A bit of googling revealed a bit more about the series, and there is even a YouTube clip, but little in the way of photos. Goodness, Sam Waterston is so young. And he looks good with a beard and dressed in Edwardian garb.

I found a couple here. The author appears to have seen some episodes recently.

Here's a firsthand account by someone involved in the production of the show.

Thanks, Bill. Acording to something I found a couple of days ago, the series had a problem in that it was supposed to a kid's show, and that its plots were too sophisticated for kids, and not enough so for the grownups. ("The what?") I'd like to see for myself. My wife, who was in her early 20s at the time, remembers the show fondly. Alas, it's not available on DVD in the USA, nor in Europe, apparently. This makes me wonder where the reviewer you linked to got his DVDs.

One more thing... Having an evil scientist called Kilkiss AND played by Julian Glover is perfect casting.

Run the videos and make screen captures. That's how I do it.

I've done that quite a bit with the other movies in my steampunk presentation. (That's how I got a really good shot of James Mason as Captain Nemo.) Unfortunately, it's not an option in this case. The series isn't available on DVD, neither in America nor in Europe.
