I've run into yet another reminder of Time's Passage.

One friend on Facebook was a 14-year-old teenager, and yours truly in his late twenties, when we first met.

Yesterday, she posted a sonogram of her first grandchild.

And we spent a total of $7,000,000,000 to build the darn thing. We're talking sums large enough to bust the Nation's budget wide open.

Heh. I kept reading your second sentence as saying that you met on Facebook. Which, given that the site opened in 2003, makes your third sentence rather disturbing :D

That's the problem with today's kids. You make assumptions based on this newfangled internet thing. When I was your age, people usually met in the real world first. Mind you, my wife and I first met thru Prehistory's snailmail-only days, but hey, I'm an old guy, so it's ok for me to contradict myself.

Don't worry, I do vaguely recall the days Before The Internet :)

This reminds me of the day I told one of our team's younger programmers that, when I started in the field, we used card-punching machines. She immediately responded that she remembered seeing those... in a museum.
