My project to convert a mainframe-based extraction process into a unix-based one is complete. The exact same results come up on both platforms. Sure, I'll have to jump thru flaming hoops to prove to our users that I know what I'm doing. Until then I'll bask in the glow of accomplishment.
There's something strangely symbolic in this whole affair. This mainframe process is one that I had created a decade ago, before I knew anything about unix.
The greasemonkey is pleased with himself.
