Tonight I went to the bookstore to fulfill a tradition.

I bought this year's edition of the World Almanach.

In 1994, I received a letter from the INS saying that the next step toward my becoming an American citizen would involve a series of questions, some of them about the Constitution. The Almanach was recommended to me.

I passed with - dare I say it? - flying colors.
A few weeks later, I first took to Oath.

The following year, I started this tradition.
My tradition.

Go you

I fully approve of people going through citizenship. I wish that ALL AMERICANS could have this test at leaving high school and those that flunk not be allowed to vote.

it is a tough test. I've seen a version, taken it and i did pass but it took a lot of memory searching, etc. for answers.

More power to you! glad you're here!

It's a normal human reaction to take your familiar environment for granted and not to feel the need to look at the details. Still, that can have dangerous effects, especially when those citizens are in a country that can have a drastic effect on a whole world. At least, none of them have said to my face that they don't consider me a real American, but if they did, I'd correct them in no uncertain terms about knowing the true meaning of America.

https://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/citizenship-test.html

The U.S. Citizenship Test Study Guide was developed by U.S. Immigration Support covers both the current and the new redesigned test including the 100 civics questions and answers. Additional topics making up the naturalization exam include an English oral, reading and writing test in addition to 10 questions about American government, civics, and American history.
100 questions plus?? Can that be right?

My test was purely spoken, if I remember correctly, with the official asking me questions, and there were not 100 of those.

Thanks, and it's a very visual reminder of how long I've been a citizen of the land I chose.
