A local prison got a new metal-checking thing and a twitty officer told women they had to take their bras off to go in. The word got to the woman in charge of the prisons and she had the twit retrained.

'Twit' is a mild way of putting it. I can think of a few other words to describe someone who treats women like that, but one doesn't use such words in polite company.

Something similar happened this week at the Hirshhorn -- a woman sat on a bench to breastfeed and two security guys told her she had to use the restroom. She wasn't comfortable breastfeeding on a toilet (!), came back to the bench, and the guys told her she shouldn't so she went home. She looked it up, and you can breastfeed in any public area, which Hirshhorn is. They're planning a feed-in for tomorrow, and the Hirschhorn has had the security company retrain their officers.
