Date: Feb. 26th, 2011 03:03 pm (UTC)I suppose it's possible that a bid could come out of nowhere and win, but my suspension of disbelief would be seriously strained. Many of the people running this one were involved in 1995 and 2005, and they're serious and experienced conrunners. They subsumed one set of competition—a Den Haag bid crowd—and are pretty far into planning. That's one reason SMOFcon is in Amsterdam this December.
If I were going to pick a year to put a bid in, I'd look at that lot and pick a different one.
