I've been thinking...
("Huh oh.")
I heard that.
Like I was about to say, I've been thinking that I gripe too much about work on my blog. After all, people come here not for that, but for my wit.
("Your what?")
I heard that too.
Anyway. I'll lay off.

Why? This is your blog, where you're supposed to be able to say what you want.

Precisely.

Even if we disliked it that much, which we don't, we could always just scroll down.

Thanks, all of you. I do try to balance the telling of bleh stuff with some office-related yay stuff. For example, I have received many thanks from people I've worked with, some of those thru very official channels.

I second that emotion.

Lay off? I'm not sure I want to hear about layoffs.

Seriously, what I get from your work-related posts is that you're good at what you do, and you are coping well with work situations that are not atypical.

I think I did quite well, but some people higher up felt differently. I'm getting my yearly review on Wednesday so I'll see then exactly what their perception is. Wish me luck.

As brownkitty says, this is your blog.

And if you can't gripe about work to your friends, who can you gripe about work to?

True, but there is such a thing as overdoing it. I was afraid that's what I was doing.

You can always gripe about *my* work, if you like...

I undestand that your job involves silly people making demands for tasks the results of which will become moot by Sunday AD. I've never heard of such a job until now.

Never worked for the Canadian public service, then?

Well, I worked for the Quebec govt from 1978 until 1986. Does that count?

Well, I actually am interested in how your work life is going. If we're declaring our interests, here, there ya go.

Thanks. Still, I will try not to abuse my friends's interest in my professional life.

Thanks. By the way, I'm finally getting my yearly review this coming Wednesday, and it's by my boss's boss, with whom I have seldom spoken. Of course, I'm a bit nervous, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
