I remember not hating it, but it's far from my favourite version. My husband is deeply fond of the Patrick Bergin/Uma Thurman (Although he also picked up the Richard Greene Black and white tv show because he watched it as a kid). I still like the Michael Praed tv series best, but they didn't clean it up at all to put on DVD, which is annoying.
Actually my wife likes it even less than before. As fr the Bergin/Thurman film, we liked it much more too. Same for the Praed version. As for Richard Greene's, my wife hates it when I start humming the show's silly theme song, since she was never exposed to it as a kid. Me, I loved it. I am also rather fond of "Robin and Marian", even though it's very sad.
Oh, it was; especially since she hadn't realized that it wasn't Kevin Costner who was nekkid. So we spent a great deal of time giggling about "Kevin Costner's Double's Butt." (I remind you that we were not at all sober.)
