They finally did it.

I've reached the point where I'm actually looking for a job elsewhere within the corporation. I'll probably discover that nobody wants me because it'll turn out the only worthwhile skill I have is my knowledge of the system, and that dedication isn't worth spit.

Please wish the wish that I'm wrong.

I don't usually wish that my friends are wrong, but this is definitely a case that calls for an exception. May you be wrong.

You have a lot of worthwhile skills, and dedication is always worth something. I'm sorry your current employers can't see that.

If you can find a good hiring manager elsewhere in the company, they'll be doing whatever they can to get you. But you have to find them, unless you're really lucky, or unless the company has such unusually good internal hiring procedures that they actually work, in which case you're really lucky. Do you know where you want to go? Do they know you there? If you have some friends there that you can use as allies, you're golden.

As for dedication, surely you have more than one.
