My wife, writer Susan Krinard, got a pleasant surprise in the mail recently. It'd appear that her novel "Touch of The Wolf", which we thought dead as it was originally published in 1999, was given a new lease on life, thanks to e*books. All right, it was just a few hundred dollars, but we'll gladly accept them into our home.
Yesterday, I bought a few books for my Nook. There was MK Hobson's fantasy novel "The Hidden Goddess", which came out that very day. I also bought Hobson's "The Native Star", which I already have in paperback, but why not? My 3rd Nook book was "Sybil's Garage #7", which conmtains a story by... surprise.. Hobson.
Besides that... I got the hardcover of Jack Campbell's "Dreadnought", which is a followup to his "Lost Fleet" series. Campbell, by the way, is a nom-de-plume for John G Hemry, whom I first discovered thru his JAG-in-space novels.
Anything else? Last week, I bought Joshua Palmatier's fantasy anthology "After Hours", a DAW paperback that includes a Ian Tregillis story set during the Blitz. I also acquired directly from its publisher's site "Anthopology 101", a trade paperback of Bud Webster's columns about old anthologies.
Finally, today I called local bookstore Page One to order A Bertram Chandler's "To The Galactic Rim".
Add to that the 66th and 67th issues of "Beneath Ceaseless Skies", which contain a 2-part story by Marie Brennan.
Yes, I like words.
How did you guess?
