I was feeling a bit down when I got up so I wrote to a friend, did the dishes, had my full workout at the gym. All of that improved my mood. So did the sight of a young woman coming onboard the bus wearing silver sequined shoes.

I saw someone yesterday wearing shiny taxicab-yellow hi-tops. They were really eye-catching, and while I don't think I'd want to wear them myself, they gave the impression of someone with a good sense of fun.

I saw my upstairs neighbor come home the other day. She works for Bank of America, but I don't know what section. She had on amazingly tight black stretch pants, a black leopard top, and at least four-inch stilettos. She had a lot of problems walking across the parking lot.

I don't get why women do that to themselves. At least the young lady on my bus was wearing flat and sensible shoes, whimsical as they may have looked.

I hadn't seen her coming home from work before -- just around here, where she wore shorts and tank tops -- so it's possible it was something special. I've been trying to pay more attention. I was out putting the trash bag and recycling bins in the van and I had to keep from laughing while I said Hi.
