Last night we watched 1991's "Robin Hood", which we had recorded on our DVR. The channel's original must not have been great, but we liked the movie as much as we had when it was first aired on TV. This, by the way, is not the Kevin Costner theatrical movie of the same year. Most of the familiar elements are there, and the cast features Patrick Bergin as Saxon nobleman Robert Hode, who's been outlawed by his much put-upon friend Baron Daguerre, played by Jeroen Krabbe, who's also the uncle of Marian, played by a 21-year-old Uma Therman, who does not want to marry nobleman Folcanet, played by German actor Jurgen Prochnow, who sports one of the most fake French accent that has ever been inflicted upon the world. Then again the whole thing is quite tongue-in-cheek.
"My bow needs grommeting."
- Will Scarlett, when he realizes that hevy petting is about to ensure between Robin & Marian.
"Ouch."
"Not so tight. She's to be married, not tortured."
- Daguerre's lady friend who's trying to get Marian ready for her wedding.
