HellBoy, after quitting the B.P.R.D., traveling to Africa, being captured by mermaids, and spending several years lost at sea, was invited by the witches of England to become their King.

He declined.

”Screw you guys.”

Thus begins the 3-issue story "The Fury", in which we find that Nimuë is back even though the witches had cut her to pieces then hidden in a cave for hundreds of years, and she's brought the Dragon along. On the other side of the battle for England are its remaining witches, the land's Noble Knights who have risen from their graves, a soldier who survived the Great War, and Alice Monaghan who hasn't aged since 1959 and who now is the keeper of Excalibur. And there's HellBoy of course, who gets into a titanic wrestling match with the Dragon.
