While waiting in line for Spiderman 3, my Sue and I found ourselves sitting next to a 4-year-old boy. Very articulate, but quite the chatterbox. It was hard keeping up with him and Sue, being the one right next to him, was the one forced to do most of the chatting-back. He showed himself to have obvious good taste as he thought that my puffing my cheeks then flattening them with the appropriate pfttt! was the height of hilarity. He also enjoyed pretending he was going to throw up.

He should have saved that last bit for the movie itself, which was rather ho-hum. The best scene was after a thief is disintegrated in one of those convenient comic-book devices of superscience (the kind that is blocked by the public by a simple unelectrified chainlink fence). Turned into a pile of sand, he keeps trying to put himself back together again and again while clenching the locket with a photo of his dying daughter.

Was it worth the money?

Not in my opinion. Then again, I only liked the previous two movies. Most of the audience seemed to be enjoying it anyway. I'm glad for them. Meanwhile, coming up in a few weeks, the next Fantastic Four movie. Michael Chiklis, who plays Ben Grimm and who is a fan of the original comic-book, has been heard saying that this will be better than the first movie. And Jessica Alba is happier with what she did this time around. Still, my fingers are firmly crossed.

I've managed to avoid seeing any FF movie. That's mostly because I never got into the FF as a comic.

aaah! spoilers! aaaah! The hubby and I are waiting for the crowds to die back a bit before we go. That said, it is going to be impossible to avoid hearing about the movie, so I'm not really "aaah" over your short bit about it. I prefer going to the latest showing of new films I can find just to avoid the kiddies. I did my time (youngest is 19) with the littles.

Sorry about that, Dawno. It's not much of a spoiler though as the whole turning-to-sand scene has been amply shown in the coming attractions. The kiddies by the way weren't a problem during that showing, buit what was really annoying was certain grownups who kept checking their email in the row ahead of ours. The light from a cell phone is rather noticeable in the dark.
