the first part of the first day

I spent the first part of the first day of the new year taking down all the Christmas lights outside and inside. Disassembling our new 10-foot-tall Tree, with its hinged branches, went very quickly, but putting it away definitely didn't. When I originally took it out of its box, I had to fluff up its branches, to make it look more like a real tree, but there's now no way the whole Tree could fit in its original box. I had to toss out our old Tree and use the box it had come in, all those years ago. Basically the Tree now takes up two large boxes. That necessitated the elimination of some other things from the garage, including a large box filled with cushions, and at the bottom of which were three very dessicated and very dead tiny mice. Appropriate, I guess, with the Skiffy Channel's traditional "Twilight Zone" marathon going on right now.

I guess I now have to relax and enjoy the last days of the Holidays.
