I am one of those people who are disgustingly healthy. That's why I knew right away on Thursday night that something was 'off' about how I was feeling> When I got home, Sue confirmed that my body temperature was a bit higher than is usual for me. Of course, I didn't stay home to rest on Friday, what with tight deadlines at the office. Besides, I was functional although feeling rather less than energetic. Things felt better on Saturday morning so we ran errands. Then I got 24 more of those 25-pound bricks for my landscaping project. By the time I was done taking them out of the minivan, I was exhausted. And my body temperature was 100.8'F. The rest of the day was shot. I was feeling better on Sunday morning, but I had too on Saturday. Was that a lesson to me? Of course. After a breakfast that consisted of half a glass of milk, I spent two hours hauling dirt around. Luckily I had truly recovered by then.

Yes, I am an idiot.

Well, glad you're feeling better now. Take it easy on yourself!

I'll try, but I can be rather stubborn, when it comes to pushing one's body. Which I guess proves that, even though my personality doesn't fit neatly in the 'guy' category, this attitude puts me firmly in that camp.

Heh. Yeah, I was thinking that that particular scenario sounds like something my husband would do...

There's theory...and then there's reality. And, in reality, that's totally something my husband would do. :D

I suppose pushing yourself beyond reason is a guy thing in the sense that you're longing for your woman to bathe your temples and all that :) Us gals have to take care of ourselves, so we're more careful of how hard we push ourselves.

You got me pegged. Of course if I looked like that Aussie guy in the icon I'm using for this post, I might be more succesful getting my temples bathed.

Drat. You mean that this painter recommended to me by Dorian Gray is a con man?

Dang it Serge, take care of yourself! I still haven't worked up a complete way to fully admit (with examples) that I have questionable taste in film. Finding a fellow aficionado of cinema-gone-wrong is delightful. And you make wonderful puns.

My bad film of the weekend - he Matador. It's rude, it's crude, I'm not sure it's good. But I like it.

I'm hoping to go to Denver next year. I've wanted to go to a con for over 20 years, so I'm thinking about making it happen.

Thanks for the kind words. I was actually cautious on Sunday. I did stop frequently and drank water. I guess I had learned somew lesson.

So you like bad movies, eh? I've never seen The Matador. I'm game for pretty much anything as long as it is free of Adam Sandler and/or Jack Nicholson. Still... To think that you derided me on Making Light's site for liking Wing Commander... And I'll have you know that I don't like bad movies. If yours truly likes a movie, the movie had to be good. So sayeth Serge. And tomorrow's post will explain why I like some movies that any sane(*) person with any taste(**) would stay away from.

(*) Don't say it.
(**) I told you not to say it.

You've never been to a con, or you have but not in 20 years? I personally prefer worldcons to small affairs. It's like the difference between the Big City and the Village. When you go to the Big City, not everybody knows everybody but you and so you don't feel like you're somehow on the outside looking inside, or on the outside not knowing where the inside is.

Never been to a con, but been wanting to go since I was a teenager (~20 years ago).

And I was twitting you about your movie choices. I will remember the new standard of "Serge likes it = Good Movie".
