oracular aspirations

After my 12:54am post, I had expected that sleep would be long in coming. That turned to be quite true because, one minute after that post went up, I received an email from another group regarding the feed we provide them. Since this is the group whose manager thinks highly of me, I couldn't say this'd have to wait. Besides, I *am* a schmuck of the responsible kind. By 7:00am, I had fixed the problem with the feed's generator script and had restarted the process. That should have been the end of it, except for our Oracle database, whidch decided to interact with the feed's generator in the slowest possible way. A few hours and a dedicated database administrator later, things finally started speeding up. By 1:00pm, we were done. I had gotten an unexpected 30-minute nap late in the morning so I now feel all invigorated and can spend the rest of the day's waking hours in the manner I had hoped for.
