When the Potter Family moves into that appartment building in San Francisco, Harry Jr quickly notices that things aren't quite normal around the place. For one thing, his baby sister is acting like she's been replaced by a troll. Oh, and one of the upstairs tenants is an old lady who talks to her mushroom, which talks back to her. I passed on "Troll" when it came out in 1986, thinking it was yet another horror flick of the era the purpose of which was to show creative ways to harm people. Author Carrie Vaughn recently mentionned it on FaceBook as something she remembered fondly, and it indeed turned out to be a pleasant little affair. Extra treats include Sonny Bono being turned into a forest, and we get to see a young Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
