After watching "X-men United" tonight, I have come to see some elements as working better than when I first saw it in 2003. One flaw about which I haven't changed my mind was their decision to keep Cyclops away from Jean thru most of the plot. As a result, his grief at the end comes across as the audience being asked to accept it without the strong basis it should have had. Faulty drama writing.
