patriotism delayed
Feb. 18th, 2012 03:31 pmI wanted to do my patriotic duty this morning as soon as I'd be back from the gym. That was before an email showed up on my BlackBerry. Yes, that feed we provide every day to another group had a problem with it - just like it had one week ago. This time though, I didn't volunteer to deal with it, having learned how little such behavior is approved of. Nor did my higherups have to embarass themselves by asking me to look into it. I was asked by that other group instead and, since *their* management appreciates my work, I put aside my patriotic plans and fixed the damned thing. The problem was in a different part of our feed-generating process because, when *I* fix thing, I really *fix* them. It took 4 hours and, by the time I was done, I didn't feel like going thru our tax stuff anymore.
Instead, I decided I'd rather read one of Carrie Vaughn's "Kitty" novels.
Tomorrow though, within minutes of my getting up, I'll begin going thru all of Sue's writing expenses of 2011. For one thing, the sooner I'm done with that, the sooner our tax consultant will be able to tell us how much we owe Uncle Sam. For another, it *is* a patriotic duty to keep the Republic properly funded.
I know, I know.
I'm weird.
