a lesson well learned

Sue's interactions with computers is a balancing act with disaster. She now uses Scrivener to write her novels and I don't understand why, for the life of us. When I got home yesterday, I learned that a mistake on her part had resulted not in her removing a bit of text, but in losing all of the latest chapter of her novel "Black Ice". The 'undo' function didn't recover it. Oh, and even though she had saved the novel within Scrivener, that backup was nowhere to be found. Luckily I had backed up all of her writing on a thumb drive a few days ago. That means she only lost half of that chapter. From now on, I'm taking my own backup every evening since she intends to keep using that bell-and-whistle-laden piece of junk called Scrivener.
