a quiet day
Mar. 17th, 2012 08:47 pm"Shall I pull it off with one short shriek?"
Today was a good and quiet day. It started with Sue and I going to the gym and, while waiting for her own workout to end, I went across the street to the big-box hardware store to get new batteries for the garage's door opener. After I dropped Sue back home, I went to our tax consultant to pick up all the paperwork, along with a form that Sue and I needed to sign for electronic filing. Sue then went out for lunch with some other ladies. I had my own repast - spam, with Uncle Ben's instant Basmati rice. I spent one hour on work stuff, then began reading a novella Sue has to turn in on Monday. When she returned, I went back to our consultant with the form now signed by both of us and resumed reading Sue's story, I was done by early evening, at which point we decided to watch 1947's "Dark Passage", one of our favorite Bogart & Bacall films, from which the line above comes. I guess we'll soon turn in. Tomorrow should be another quiet day, with a bit of Spring-time yardwork, and my reading more of Seanan McGuire's hilarious "Discount Armageddon".
