On that fateful journey, a ship's passengers were transformed by cosmic rays into other beings. Reed Richards could stretch his body as well as his mind, Sue Storm became the Invisible Woman, her brother Jonathan the Human Torch, and their pilot Ben Grimm was twisted into the monstrous Thing. Together they fought off many powerful ennemies of humankind, saving us again and again.

What if History had happened differently?

What if those cosmic rays had instead hit the crew and passengers of the S.S.Minnow? The Professor could have stretched his body as well as his mind, Gilligan would have become the Human Torch, and the Skipper would have been twisted into the monstrous Thing. Maybe Mr.Howell would have turned into Willie Lumpkin. As for Mrs.Howell, Maryann and Ginger, they'd all have become the Invisible Women.

Unfortunately, Doctor Doom would have gone on to conquer America. Or maybe the Skrulls would have, or their ennemies the Krees. Or maybe the MoleMan. How come? You may think that, with all those superpowers, our heroes could have finally left that island. But you forget that, in their original Reality, they had the Professor who could build a fusion reactor out of cocoanuts, but also couldn't figure a way to patch that hole on the Minnow's hull.

The thought of Gilligan with superpowers is enough to haunt my dreams.

Indeed. "Flame on!" isn't something I'd want to hear Gilligan say.

I guess the Invisible Women wouldn't have needed all the clothes that they brought for a three hour tour.

I know I'm not the first to ponder it, but do you ever suppose that if you put the Professor and MacGyver in the same research lab, we would have cold fusion by now?

The amount of clothes brought by the ladies was a bit excessive. On the other hand, except for Mr.Howell, the men wore the same clothes all the time they were there. Must have gotten slightly smelly after some time.

The Professor and MacGyver? That'd have made made for an interesting crossover. Anyway, the Professor was probably an alien, which would explain a lot of things. What am I talking about? Didn't you recognize him as the young electrician who gets replaced by an alien in It Came From Outer Space?
