Remember how, in "Forbidden Planet", the starship's engineer said about a device provided by Morbius "Any quantum mechanic in the service would give the rest of his life to fool around with this gadget"? Soon after, the Monster from the Id smeared him all over the ship's controls, which would suggest that Morbius's subconscious hated bad puns.
