This morning's team meeting involved much discussion about what has been going wrong these days. In my opinion, the root cause is the lack of communication and of timely response. On the other hand, my team lead and our business people seemed to think that what we need are well defined procedures although not to the point of constraining people. I pointed out that the solution really is quite simple and quoted the Golden Rule. The silence that followed was deafening. Either they thought I'd been even more rude than usual, or the idea had never occurred to them.
