but at least I didn't turn into a pirate
Jul. 2nd, 2007 09:36 amYesterday, the contractors in charge of replacing the kitchen's floor with tiles, along with the two bathrooms's, briefly came to seal the grouting then off they went. That marked the end of Phase One of our home improvements for this year. Phase Two will begin on July 23 and will involve other contractors tearing out the carpet in the dining room and in the living room, then putting in a hardwood-like flooring.
After yesterday's home improvement by pros, yours truly decided that enough was enough and he would procrastinate no more. I had received the tailor-made blinds a few days before, but, after all the trouble that the original blinds above the kitchen sink had given me, I was dreading trying again. It was hard work (like being a President), especially since I had to crouch in the sink, but it went went fairly quickly. True, I lost my balance and almost fell to the floor, but I caught myself, which is good because I'd rather not think what a collision with a tile floor would have done to my spine. And this time, I didn't come anywhere near close to poking myself in the eye with a screwdriver. That means no justification for me to wear an eyepatch.
Awrrrr!!!
