I had an amusing email exchange yesterday in which one of the team's other coordinators criticized my minion and I for taking a backup at the end of our monthly processing that automatically replaced the database backup taken at the beginning of it. This is something we frequently do. I pointed out that he had not warned us about his need for the earlier backup, and that *we* had sent frequent warnings about our intentionsto the whole team, and that nobody had raised flags about this. His response was that he may have missed that email (singular?), but if he had seen it, he would have assumed that we'd take steps to put the earlier backup away in a safe place. Even though the team never saves both backups. I diplomatically did not tell him the joke about assumptions. Silly people.
