executive and not executed

This morning I unilaterally took am executive decision about how we'd monitor and support our group's computer system. I did so without consulting the team lead above me, or the boss above him. After all, system-support is what I am the official coordinator of. The team lead hasn't responded, but the boss has - and he's ok with that. This decision of mine means no pointless disruption of sleep for the oncall primary's backup. And yes, yours truly currently is the backup, why do you ask?
