my formative years of Cinema

When I was growing up and the Gemini spaceflights were also going up, I lived too far on the outskirts of the suburb of Quebec City for easy frequent trips to the capital's movie houses. Luckily the parish's much closer youth-center had matinees, which is how my formative years were shaped by Italian Cinema. Fellini? you may wonder. No, but there were many flicks from Italy about strongmen Hercules and Maciste, space operas such as "Green Slime". And "Superargo", in which a wrestler, after accidentally killing a friend in the arena, retires from the modern world and turns toward pursuits of the Mind, learning ancient mystical skills such as levitation, which come in handy when a mad scientist turns athletes into the cyborgs of his army.
