Huh. With R2D2 precursor, too.

I've never actually seen the movie, but that piece of music was (and may still be) the intro to Jim Freund's Hour of the Wolf on WBAI.

I didn't know that about the music. It was one of the few movie scores written by Peter Schikele, aka PDQ Bach.

Regarding R2-D2's precursors... They were called Hewey, Dewey and Louie. Yes, Donald Duck's nephews. Inside were kids whose legs had been amputated, and their arms were in the robot legs.
