bad law-writing leads to bad laws

New Mexico's Republican Cathrynn Brown must have gotten a lot of flak over HB206. I just called my own representative's office and the person I talked to said that Brown has introduced an amendment to clarify her bill's intent. Apparently she never wanted to make it a crime of tampering ith evidence when a rape victim gets an abortion, but to make it a crime if the perpetrator forces the victim to have an abortion so that he can avoid prosecution. We'll see in the next few months if that person fed me some BS. That being said, you'd think that people who write laws would try to make them clear the first time around.
