everybody's question

Today, each and every person I met asked me the same question: why was I using an open desk in the dept's central aisle when there are cubicles available? True, the cubicle I inhabited yesterday had a pillar in the middle of it, but that's not why I chose to be in plain sight of everybody. When I'm in plain sight of everybody, they are in plain sight of me. It's kind of silly to fly me 1100 miles only to have me hidden in another cubicle. I like being around people and I get too little of that.
