I just read two short stories by Carrie Vaughn - "The Best We Can", about the discovery of an alien artifact in the far reaches of our solar system, and "Fishwife", about the discovery of lovecraftian life arisen from Earth's oceans. Recommended. By the way, one of the tales pays homage to Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron dancing by a fountain to the sound of Gershwin's music.
