I had a wonderful moment at work today. The control freak in charge of users had a freakout that wasn't chic when she found out I'm planning to deploy a small change next week that'll make life easier for everybody. She demanded to know who had approved this and why it had not gone thru 'the process'. That's when my boss, without my asking, responded that this had come up while she was on vacation. From her own boss. She changed her tune after that. I will admit that I then gloated silently.
