I watched Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" last night. Sort of. I stopped after one hour when the carnage on the lifeboat made me wish I was instead watching Ang Lee's "Sharkanado". Also, I'm not sure we were supposed to take Pi's retelling of his past as the truth, but I became more and more perplexed about the lifeboat's tarped-over section. The only way I could justify its hiding Sher Khan *and* Hardy Har without one making a meal out of the other was that there also was a TARDIS in there.

My immediate reaction to the premise, on reading a pre-pub review of the book, was "Boy and tiger in lifeboat? Tiger eats boy by second day. End of story." It was a rave review, though, so I bought a copy for the library. And then bought a zillion more when the reserve list backed up for months.

That's what I thought of it: Total and utter nonsense; the tiger would eat the boy by the second day, end of story. So I never bothered to read it and I certainly have no interest in the movie.

I thought the premise sounded dumb, too, but I'd pay money to see Ang Lee's SHARKNADO!!! (I know there weren't any exclamation points in the original title, but I'm sure Mr. Lee's budget would stretch to a few.)

oh I was SO disappointed by the Hulk movie. Haven't gotten around to the Edward Norton version--was it good?
