I'll probably get a decent yearly review this year, and I will probably get a raise that's minimal but a hair above insulting. That would have been more bearable if, at the beginning of 2012, they had not switched us to Untied Healthcare and its much more expensive coverage, with the result that I effectively experienced a pay cut. My manager usually circumvented the company's guidelines on official raises by giving me a bonus. I certainly hope this happens this year too because not only is my wife getting her other eye go thru cataract surgery in February, but she just found out that one tendon in her lower back has a tear in it and that it may require surgery too. My own healthy fingers are crossed.
