My office calendar's art for May is from June 1949's "Thriling Wonder Stories" and depicts a scene from Leigh Brackett's "Sea Kings of Mars". Once again this proves the superior physical endurance of women: while the sword-wielding lady is quite scantily clad, the sword-wielding gent is garbed in blue-chainmail hot pants, a blue-chainmail sweater, and a metal belt to protect his midriff.
