I just finished Claire O'Dell's novel "A Study in Honor", the near-future story of Dr Janet Watson, a veteran of the Civil War being waged against the New Confederacy, and of her becoming associated with Sara Holmes, who is not what she seems. Recommended, and I understand that I haven't seen the last of Watson & Holmes.

I'm working on that one as well, and finding it very good so far.

Is it one of those books that would be best for actual Sherlock Holmes fans, do you think?

I think you misunderstood my question. Let me rephrase it. I am *not* particularly a Sherlock Holmes fan; is that likely to detract from my enjoyment of this book?
