sergebroom50 years ago on this day, I woke up in my own bed, after two weeks in summer camp. To say that my almost-14-year-old socially inept self had not had a good time would be an understatement. I was now back home, but feeling very withdrawn. Something helped bring me back - the knowledge of what would happen two mornings later.
Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins would take off for the Moon.
Like many people on Earth, I remained glued to a TV set for days, and History was made when humans landed on the Moon on Sunday, July 20.
