Bucking a trend

I see that Turner Classic Movies has FINALLY run out of "Bowery Boys" films. About time too. Starting in a few minutes, they're showing the first 2 chapters of a "Buck Rogers" serial from 1939. My DVR is all set.

I'm taking Monday off, which is why I spent two extra hours yesterday to minimize the possibility of other team members fucking up and clamoring for my help that day. Instead they fucked up last night, which is why I just finished spending 4 hours cleaning up the mess.

embarassment, bushes and casinos

Later today, I wrote an email to the team and to the appropriate higherups saying that the work situation had originated with a problem with our job flow last night. I could have said that it had been caused by the other guy's solution to that earlier problem. I didn't because the embarassment would only incite him not to take any risk and not to grow. This week I saw our team lead resort to childish criticism and this is an approach I care little about, whether or not I'm on the receiving end.

Once I was done with the cleanup, I had enough time to do quite a bit of yardwork, raking many bags of leaves, uprooting some bushes that the winter's very cold spell had killed, mowing the lawn. Later in the evening, my wife and I watched a very romantic movie, 2006's "Casino Royale".
