51.5 and counting

I turned 51 in September, which is why Sue has been pestering again and again to get a medical checkup, which I had this week. My doc gave me a clean bill of health. I can't wait for my late-February colonoscopy. At least, that'll give me an excuse to take a day off office work.

I turned 56 in November, and I've been nagged about getting one of those exams for years. I've got to see how much my miserably-expensive and not-so-inclusive health insurance will pay and how much I'll have to (50% of ordinary lab fees, so for a test like that? Yikes).

My own health coverage will cover most of the expense. Which is a relief. It's also a relief that I won't need to give myself an enema the day before. And that, while I'll have to fast, I will be allowed to ingest something other than jell-o.
