Next in the Season's movie-watching last night was 1947's "Miracle on 34th Street".

Why oh why does Hollywood insist on remaking classics, as they did with this one in 1994?

Never mind, rhetorical question. But still.

I'm sure there are people who remake things because they loved the original, and they want the younger generations to love it too, but done with modern means. But, as local writer George RR Martin said at our con, he dreads the day when someone will remake Forbidden Planet because they'll probably (bleep) it up.
