traveling thru space... and time

Tonight I’ll be flying to the Bay Area for some work-related training. I wasn't sure that my wife would be available to come pick me up next Saturday so I made a reservation with a shuttle service. I was rather intrigued by their confirmation email:

we recommend at least a pick-up time of two hours prior to your flight to allow for enough time travel time

Hopefully, the shuttle driver won't be called Tony Newman or Doug Phillips.

I'll be staying at one of my sisters-in-law, except tonight and tomorrow, due to my SIL's unavailability. For those two nights, I'll be using the couch of my friend Yoko, who, for the occasion, has rechristened her appartment the Hotel Yoko.



I have wonderful friends, if I may say so.

I'll never forget an ad I heard on the radio a while back, for a local jewelry store. They were having a sale on watches, and the ad started off, in all seriousness, with the line, "Sometimes you just can't turn back time." Only sometimes? Those must be special watches...
